A United Nations human rights watchdog has accused Israel's police & military of abuses against Palestinian children ranging from torture to threats of death & sexual assault in prisons.
(Convention on the rights of the child - report. 4th July 2013)
The committee reported that soldiers arrested Palestinian youngsters regularly during night time sweeps, tying their hands painfully, blindfolding them, and often transferring them to detention centres without informing their parents. It also said that arrested Palestinian children between the ages of 9 to 17 were systematically subjected to physical & verbal abuse, threatened with death, physical violence and sexual assault against themselves or members of their family as well as having access restricted to toilets, food & water.
The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal have also recently found Israel guilty of Crimes against Humanity.
(The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal against the State of Israel
20-25 November 201. Case No 4 - CHG 2013.)
With the evidence staking up, when is the United Nations going to take these crimes seriously and hold Israel to account?
